Andreas' Blessing (Christmas Day 2009)

Andreas was blessed on Christmas Day 2009 right before Christmas dinner (4:40 pm to be exact). He had Grandpa Z, Uncle Aaron, Uncle Allen, Uncle Brandon, and Great Uncle Ken in the circle, and was blessed by his dad. We just missed Uncle Alex and Uncle Sam!!! Luckily Grandma Z went out and bought him a beautiful outfit just for the occasion and Andreas barely cried the entire time.

Andreas and the Great Grandmas

Andreas was lucky enough to meet both maternal Great Grandmothers this Christmas.

As an added bonus, here is a picture of Andreas with Grandma Z -- where we actually caught his smiling on camera!

Christmas Eve in California

This year we spent 2 weeks in California for Christmas and the New Year. Christmas Eve was at Aunt Diane's house this year and was very nice. We had a telling of the Christmas story and a few Christmas songs, and of course lots of Christmas goodies. Dinner was some very good clam chowder and tortilla soups, but of course you had to make it through a huge table of appetizers in order to get there.

Saul's Graduation

On December 20, 2009 a long awaited event occurred -- Saul graduated with his bachelor's in Computer Information Systems (I guess his BBA officially). Veronica (Saul's Sister) and Sam, Tiff, and Zoe all attended and provided their support. It was a very cold day and the graduation took place at Minute Maid Park (the baseball stadium) with the top open. Thanks to Mom and Dad Zim for the frame -- we will post a picture of it once we get his official diploma. Thanks to Mom and Dad Andaverde for the cute knit outfit that Andreas is wearing.

Texas Christmas Eve

This year since Sam, Tiffany, and Zoe were not able to come to California for Christmas, we had a Texas Christmas Eve and Day a week early! Here are the pictures of the great event. As Tiffany mentioned in her blog, Andreas and Zoe are a bit like oil and water at the moment -- Zoe is a bit like Elmira from Tiny Toons (she just likes to touch things she likes!) and Andreas doesn't like having his face mangled for some reason, but eventually we will get a good picture of them together! Notice the cute Christmas outfits courtesy of Grandma Zim.

Snow in Houston

Here are a few pictures of our house when it snowed in Houston way back in early December. I made Saul run out and snap them because goodness knows I was not going out in the cold!
